About the Course Design Foundations (CDF)

The CTSI CDF is a self-paced, asynchronous program for instructors who are designing a new course or redesigning an existing course. The CDF program offers a course design/redesign introduction for new (and new to U of T) instructors and acts as a refresher for experienced instructors.

CDF's seven modules introduce components of integrated course design, the Inclusive Pedagogy Framework (IPF), and Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Each module contains text, audio, and video content with supporting references and resources. Set aside 60 minutes per module to engage with the module materials and workbook activities.

Note that you can view all modules sequentially, or you can choose to visit specific modules of interest. For a list of module pages, select the "Modules" link from the Course Navigation Menu (located on the left side of the interface). Have fun with your design/redesign!
