Welcome to the Training Program

Hello and welcome to the Digital Learning Producers Training Program.

Description

This Digital Learning Producers Training Program provides training so that you can become Digital Learning Producers. You will learn the appropriate technical skills to support Faculty with online instruction and will be trained to use Open Broadcast Software (OBS Studio, an open source software we have confi rmed is being used at many institutions throughout Ontario) in conjunction with virtual cameras to integrate them with video conferencing platforms, like Zoom, Teams, and BB Collaborate. The skills taught in this program will enhance s ynchronous and async hronous instruction with a more innovative presentation. Prior to completion of the training , you will be paired with a Faculty member, regardless of discipline, with developing dynamic online instruction. We, your project leads, will then assess and evaluate your ability to adapt your new Digital Learning Producer skills and how you collaborate i n online instruction development.

Objectives

Upon successful completion of this program, you will be able to:

Assist Faculty in implementing OBS in their synchronous and asynchronous online course.
Harness the skills and strategies taught in this program to support Faculty in their online instruction.
Tap into and share the pedagogical affordances of harnessing various technology in conjunction with course content, materials, and resource.
Reduce barriers of the technological landscape for Faculty to ensure easy navigation and innovative online instruction .

Click the "Intro Module" button below to review important information specific to this training program. This includes the training program structure, what you can expect, what is expected of you, and a reading list which highlights important frameworks and research regarding online instruction, instructional design, and digital pedagogy.

Note: This is an online training program. Learning takes place exclusively online. There are no in-person meetings, however there will virtual meetings. This program will be interactive and you will be supported throughout the program by the instructors. The "Start Here" module provides you with a valuable collection of tips, readings, and resources to help you succeed.
