What Will You Learn?
In this module, we will introduce key terms and concepts for employee-led workplace innovation and illustrate them through case studies, videos, and online resources. All the skills, knowledge, and mindsets you develop here will readily transfer to work domains beyond this course and your work term.
As a co-op student, workplace innovation may seem far removed from the duties assigned to you during your work term. However, as you may have discovered in your first work term, you can have an impact in shaping the work that you do by setting SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Time-bound) goals in areas that you want to learn and grow. You were also introduced to design thinking as a problem-solving tool to create solutions that address users' needs. Workplace innovation practices can provide even more opportunities to have an impact on your work term experience; design thinking is just one way to support such innovation. In this module, you'll learn how you can grow your workplace innovation capability through your ASIP work term to improve your own quality of work life while meeting the needs of your organization.
