- Workplace innovation as a social process and the connection between workplace innovation and design thinking
- Organizational capability for workplace innovation, a synergy known as the Fifth Element
We introduced the concept of job crafting and explored the types of job crafting (task, relational, cognitive, and skill), along with case study examples.
We talked about the Ladder of Opportunities and explored the Kickbox Method for employee-led innovation adaptation.
Finally, we reviewed tips for how to talk to your supervisor about job crafting.
Connecting the Dots
Throughout PD3 and PD4 our focus was on your Sustainability Innovation (SI) Challenge, which was intended to align with the Sustainable Development Goals Links to an external site.. Think about everything you have done for the SI Challenge, and everything we discussed in this module about workplace innovation. What concepts were you already applying? Which concepts are new to you? For the design ideas that emerged from the SI Challenge, who are the employees whose jobs - and quality of work life - would be affected by the changes proposed? How could they be involved as stakeholders in the design process? |
