What is it?

The Centre for Teaching and Learning is piloting an eight-month professional development course, which will allow faculty and instructors to engage deeply with pedagogical best practices across many topics. Each session will be 2 hours long and will encompass a combination of facilitated discussion and application opportunities.

When is it?

The course will be offered every other Friday from Sept. 10, 2021 until April 15, 2022. There will be 13 sessions in total. The course will be held completely online, synchronously from 10am - 12pm.

Who is eligible?

All appointed faculty at UTSC are eligible to apply, including those who have 67% or 75% contracts.

How big will the cohort be? (How many spots are there)

The cohort will be quite small (9 participants), but the hope is to scale up in the future and run multiple sessions simultaneously.

How do I know if this is right for me?

Give the syllabus a read and look at the application form. Although this course does require investment, it is meant to provide a facilitated space to engage with topics while acknowledging that faculty don’t have time to take a full, traditional course on teaching and learning.
