Homework

Worth 20% of your final mark.
There will be six homework assignments. The lowest score among the first five homework sets will be dropped.
Homework problems sets will be posted two weeks in advance. The solutions should be scanned and uploaded to Quercus before the deadline.
Your TA will mark your work and will return it to you in the following week’s tutorial.
You are encouraged to work with your fellow students while working on questions from the problem sets. However, the writing of your assignment must be done without any assistance.

Quizzes

Worth 20% of your final mark.

The quizzes are administered through Quercus, will be available only for 24 hours and are expected to be completed the time allocated and in a single attempt.
The questions will be taken from a pool and answers jumbled, so individual students will get different problems but overall the quiz will be of the same difficulty level.
Quizzes are expected to be completed without any external help. This means that you cannot work in groups, and refer to any other resource except your textbook and notes during the quizzes.

Midterm exam

Worth 25% of your final mark
There will be two parts - an online quiz and a take home exam.
The quiz will be available for 24 hours through Quercus and is expected to be completed within the time allocated and in a single attempt.
The answers for the take home part should be scanned and uploaded before the deadline.
Both parts are expected to be completed without any external help. This means that you cannot work in groups, and refer to any other resource except your textbook and notes.

Final exam

Worth 35% of your final mark
There will be two parts - an online quiz and a take home exam.
